J enny Sewell works with drawing using French oil pastels. Her richly coloured and vibrant compositions explore a storehouse of memories, with her strongest recollections creating the framework of her artwork. In talking about her work, Jenny says:

“My memories are the inspiration for my art and inform my creations. These come from my entire life – the landscape, my childhood, the little township of Portland – all provide the fodder for my work in various ways.

When I am not drawing, I fill in my time reading and gardening. Both these pastimes can lead to new inspiration and the solitude of my life on small acreage leads me in new directions.

My strongest recollections have shaped my life and has helped me create my artwork – memories which have stayed with me all my life.”
